Lifeguards have requirement too you know

No one would have thought that lifeguards were required to have some type of training or degree. The minimum amount of education that is required is a high school diploma or a General Educational Development (GED). Some of the classes that the lifeguards should have been taking are health and physical education classes. Lifeguards should be trained in first aid, so they can help save people that need medical help in any given conditions presented.

Lifeguards also have to get their certificate in Red Cross Advances Lifesaving to be a true lifeguard. This course last about six days and the lifeguards are tested on their swimming skills. Some of the things that the lifeguards would have to do are swimming 500 yards and tread the water for about one minute. Lifeguards have to perform first aid skills, physical endurance, and CPR. They also should remember to renew it every three years.

If the lifeguard is trying out for a management position or supervisor, they would have to go through postsecondary training. If they go through postsecondary training, they would have to go to college and get a degree in health, recreation, or business. Instructors should be well educated on breathing and rescuing techniques as well.

FOB- Facts of the Blog:

The first ever lifeguards were fire fighters, police, or local government. When people began to swim more frequently, lifeguards were needed more. Now that lifeguards were important, they also had to have standardized training. In 1956, the Summer Olympics started to regulate training, equipment, and techniques.
